Who do you provide ADHD testing for?
Ferncroft Behavioral Health offers comprehensive ADHD evaluations for children, teens, and adults.
What are common signs of ADHD?
ADHD may involve difficulty with focus, organization, time management, impulsivity, restlessness, forgetfulness, completing tasks, or feeling easily overwhelmed. Because other conditions can cause similar symptoms, a comprehensive evaluation is important.
What does an ADHD evaluation include?
Evaluations may include a clinical interview, review of symptoms and history, standardized ADHD and behavioral rating scales, assessment of attention and executive functioning, and review of relevant records. For children and teens, parent and teacher input may also be included.
Why is comprehensive testing important?
Attention difficulties can have many causes, including ADHD, anxiety, mood concerns, sleep problems, and learning difficulties. A comprehensive evaluation helps provide diagnostic clarity and appropriate recommendations.
Do you need information from my child's teacher?
Teacher input is often helpful in understanding how a child functions at school. With parent/guardian permission, teachers may be asked to complete standardized questionnaires.
Can adults be diagnosed with ADHD?
Yes. Many adults have lived with ADHD symptoms for years without being diagnosed. Adult evaluations consider current concerns as well as relevant childhood history.
What happens after testing?
We review the results with you and provide personalized recommendations and next steps based on the findings.
Does an ADHD diagnosis mean medication is required?
No. Treatment is individualized and may include behavioral strategies, therapy, educational or executive functioning supports, medication, or a combination of approaches.
Do you offer medication management?
Yes. Ferncroft Behavioral Health provides both comprehensive ADHD testing and medication management. When appropriate, medication options can be discussed as part of an individualized treatment plan.
